Introduction

In a recent article in The Record, Tim Jackson, a venture capitalist specializing in high-tech companies, said:

“Recruitment and retention of good staff is one of the biggest challenges facing the high technology companies and other creative enterprises. The technology sector is starting to understand that people want exciting places to work and interesting places to live. If they can't get both here, they can and will go elsewhere . . .”

In any job market, attracting and retaining high quality employees are critical functions. For this very reason, it is essential that these talented people fully understand all that this community has to offer and once they are here, settle in to the community as smoothly as possible.

The services of After the Move have been designed to help companies recruit talented employees to the Kitchener-Waterloo area and once hired, help the employee (and their family) integrate into the community as smoothly and as stress-free as possible. All venues have been selected to provide opportunities to meet people, build friendships, and put down roots in the community.
